Kate - the Kansas City Kitty - is an only child, and despite her nickname was actually born in Minnesota, January 22, 1985 to her loving parents: Sylvia (born Sylvia Martinez of Pharr, TX, 3rd of 6, teacher, and super mom) and George (born George Moreng of Fort Collins, CO, 1st of 7, farm man turned neurologist / barbecue extraordinaire).

 

After Minnesota, she lived shorts stints in Texas (Houston) and Michigan (Kalamazoo) prior to settling in Overland Park, Kansas at age 8.  After finishing high school there, she finished college and med school at the nearby University of Missouri, Kansas City (kangaroos!) in SIX years :O.

 

She has since been in Royal Oak, Michigan for radiology residency and JUST PASSED HER BOARDS (!!!). Her most favorite pastimes include zumba, yoga, singing, dancing, RueLaLa, art, PET scans, cats, and all things Disney. Her favorite froyos (frozen yogurts) include Pinkberry, Yogurtland, Bloomberry, and Sweet Earth (she and Victor even won 1 year's worth free). She has also been going through a Hello Kitty phase for the past 5-15 years. (MeOOOoooW!)  

SalsaKittyKate MD finishes residency in June 2014. Starting July, she will be in the Baylor pediatric radiology fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital (back to Houston!) where she hopes to have a pet baby tiger and can live and work close to her maid of honor and bestest friend ever, aunt Carmen!
